Happy one month birthday to Sparrow too!

(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) — Popular pop, rock and worship troubadour Yancy has given birth to a Sparrow! To be specific, she gave birth to a healthy boy, Sparrow Rocket Richmond, who was born in Nashville on February 25th, weighing 7.8 pounds and measuring 19 inches long. Yancy and husband Cory Richmond are adjusting to parenthood with the arrival of their first child.

For fans that are worried that Yancy won’t be hitting the road any time soon, you can rest easy. She’ll be back on the road in early April with a full calendar through the rest of 2011.

“The baby is coming on the road,” assures Yancy. “I grew up a preacher’s kid and was always very involved in what my Dad was doing at church. We plan to raise Sparrow the same way, allowing him to be very involved in what I do.”

Yancy is touring in support of her latest album, Stars, Guitars and Megaphone Dreams, which has received tremendous praise from Christian media outlets and “mommy bloggers,” further cementing her as one of the top family-friendly artists in Christian music. In fact, the just-released March/April issue of Group Publishing’s Children’s Ministry Magazine has an article about Yancy, where she shares tips for leading worship to preschool, elementary and preteen students.

With a decade under her belt, and countless credits to her name, Yancy has released radio friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Mute Math, Newsboys, 4Him and Nichole Nordeman. As a writer, Yancy has teamed up with Third Day’s Mac Powell, wrote Avalon’s #1 hit “I Don’t Want To Go” and Jaci Velasquez’s “Something Beautiful,” and still found the time to compose two devotional books for worship leaders and musicians and a devotional book for pre-teens.

In the March/April issue of “Children’s Ministry Magazine” Yancy is featured in an article entitled “Rock Of Ages”. On page 80 Yancy shares tips for leading worship for preschool, elementary and preteen students. If you’re wanting to help the kids in your church or home get excited about worship this is a great source of information for you. Find the issue at your local Christian Bookstore or go to http://www.childrensministry.com for more info on “Children’s Ministry Magazine” by Group Publishing.
