Happy Easter

April 23rd, 2011

I hope this weekend you and yours have an amazing Easter. Yesterday was good friday and I can’t help but stand in awe as I realize our Savior, Jesus, died for me. I’m so thankful that although His death was huge in and of itself, that’s not the end of the story. Tomorrow on Easter Sunday we celebrate His resurrection. Wow! We are so blessed. Enjoy your time with your family this weekend. Let your life tell the story of our amazing Savior. He is alive. He is risen!

Love Yancy

P.S. He’s a few pictures of baby Sparrow. He turned 8 weeks yesterday…the time is flying by!

Several months ago I was given the invitation to come be a part of a first. The first of anything is crazy exciting sometimes mixed with every other emotion possible cause well, it’s the first one. For me, I’m thrilled to be a part of Group’s KidMin Conference this October. It’s going to be a different type conference. Different how? Check out www.childrensministry.com/kidmin to learn more. I have many friends there that will also be sharing and teaching. Those are friends like Patrick Snow, Kenny Conley, Dan Scott, Dale Hudson, Gina McClain and Dick Gruber. I am blessed that many times throughout the year I get to go to work with my Dad. (Yeah, so I’m thirty but still I love my dad!) This is one of those occasions. I can honestly say after a lifetime of hearing my Dad teach, share, tell jokes and do his thing of loving people I truly love to hear him teach and share. He is a wise man. He has a passion to help others learn and grow so they don’t have to make the same mistakes he’s made over the years. He loves his “young guns” and truly cares about young leaders. He sees potential in those that many others don’t. He believes in those that need an extra shot of well, belief. What I’m looking forward to the most of these few days is spending time with and listening to my dad, Jim Wideman. He’ll be speaking in the general sessions. I’m more than ok with being called Daddy’s girl. In fact, I’m proud of it!

So come hang with me, my Dad and our friends. I hope to see you in Chicago!

A couple weeks ago I received one of the sweetest packages ever. It was from an eight year old fan named Brooklyn. She lives in Normal, IL and I had met her year and a half ago at a concert I did at her church. She wrote me a letter and sent pictures as well as some snazzy drawings. (I particularly like the one she did of the cover of my CD “Stars, Guitars & Megaphone Dreams”.) Brooklyn wrote in her note of her dreams and aspirations which makes me so happy! I truly believe God has a plan for each of us. I am beyond blessed to get to share my gifts with people like Brooklyn. I’m thrilled that God used me to encourage Brooklyn to see her dreams come true. Finding your purpose in life is one of life’s greatest gifts. I am for now am going to keep this smile on my face thinking of this letter, these pictures and most importantly a little girl named Brooklyn

Many of you have been tuning in to the “Children’s Ministry Telesummit” this week online at http://www.pajamaconference.com If you’re not familiar it’s a conference that is completely online. Yancy did a teaching as well called “Muisc, Relevance and This Thing Called Preteen Worship”.

They are offering a special through Saturday where you can get the entire conference only $40.. all audios and videos from 34 speakers! That’s a pretty good deal. No flights, no travel, just great teaching for ministry. Be sure to check this out at http://alturl.com/at7rb

Be sure to check out Yancy in the Summer 2011 issue of Shine Brightly Magazine from @GemsGirlsClubs!

Gems Girls Clubs is a relationship-building club program created especially for girls! GEMS Clubs are offered in local churches and other Christian organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Girls in first through eighth grades are eligible for membership. The purpose of GEMS Girls’ Clubs is to help bring girls into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. To help foster this all-important relationship between each girl and Christ, other relationships are nurtured as well — between girls and between girls and their counselor (leader).
