(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) — Christian singer-songwriter and children’s worship expert Yancy has extended her relationship with Standard Publishing, creating all-new songs and music videos for the new God’s Backyard Bible Camp™ Vacation Bible School program for 2013.
“Making music that the whole family can sing along with is my passion,” says Yancy. “This partnership with Standard allows me to do that on a greater scale. The lessons their VBS teachers will share next summer are brought to life by the songs. I love that music has such power and that the message in the songs will stick with kids for years to come.
God’s Backyard Bible Camp™ – Under the Stars is the first SuperSimple™ VBS and features Bible stories that all occur in the evening. This summer night theme adds a new element of excitement for children as they learn about and experience service. For churches that prefer summertime fun in the sunshine, God’s Backyard Bible Camp™ – Under the Sun offers different daytime stories of service that are entwined with outdoor games, water fun, tree house motifs and backyard barbecues.
Either way, the focus of God’s Backyard Bible Camp™ is on service, and Standard’s 2013 VBS comes packed with a variety of ways for kids to discover and experience the kind of service-filled lives God wants us to live.
“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with YANCY who understands how children worship and how to craft singable, memorable tunes,” said Stephanie Woeste, Vice President of Marketing for Standard Publishing. “Long after VBS is over, children and adult volunteers will all find they are still singing and being impacted by these catchy songs that pack a powerful message.”
In addition to her music and ongoing role with Standard Publishing, Yancy has joined the editorial team at K Magazine, where she will be contributing an article in each issue on the topic of worship for kids.
For more than a decade, Yancy has released radio friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Mute Math, Newsboys, 4Him and Nichole Nordeman. As a writer, Yancy has teamed up with Third Day’s Mac Powell, wrote Avalon’s #1 hit “I Don’t Want To Go” and Jaci Velasquez’s “Something Beautiful,” and still found the time to compose two devotional books for worship leaders and musicians and a devotional book for pre-teens.
