Pink Boombox Contest

February 27th, 2014

We are super excited about the release of Yancy’s newest devotional for preteens releasing next week. We are so excited about it that we are going to give away a Pink Boombox to one lucky winner and a bunch of copies of the devotional to those that can help us spread the word about “Jesus Music Box: The Devotional” that releases March 4th.

This daily devotional is based on the songs from Yancy’s Jesus Music Box album, and it matches each song to a different chapter over the span of twelve weeks. Topics include: standing up for Christ, how God provides, prayer, why we worship, the promise that God is always with us, and more. This resource is perfect for teaching preteens the importance of a daily devotional time.

Yancy, Christian music’s reigning Queen of Diversity, will release Jesus Music Box: The Devotional! – a new daily devotional book based on the songs from her 2013 album release, Jesus Music Box. Distributed by Elevate Entertainment, the new devotional will be available online and in Christian bookstores on March 4th.

Matching each song to a different chapter, the 12-week devotional for preteens covers a variety of topics including standing up for Christ, how God provides, prayer, why we worship, the promise that God is always with us and more.

“I love breaking down the message of the songs and helping underline and highlight those subjects and thoughts with scripture from God’s Word,” says Yancy, who previously released a successful devotional book tied to her Rock-N-Happy Heart album. “After this devotional experience I know that these scriptures and thoughts will be planted in student’s spirits. They will be reminded of those daily devotional lessons with each listen to the songs from the album of the same name for years to come. I’m excited to help students grow in their faith by encouraging them to spend time in the Word and prayer daily.”

In support of Jesus Music Box, Yancy will hit the road this spring leading worship for SuperStart by Christ In Youth (www.ciy.com/superstart), the nation’s largest touring preteen event. The tour is sponsored by CMConnect.org, Orange Curriculum, WorshipHouseKids.com and The Message Bible (Navpress).

This summer, kids around the world will experience Yancy’s music through Standard Publishing’s Jungle Safari VBS. This is the third year Yancy’s original songs, production and videos have been featured in one of the top “Vacation Bible School” products available.

“Music is an amazing tool that we have to connect with kids and help them learn,” says Yancy. “I love that the message kids learn at VBS will stick with them for years to come through the melodies and words I put into the songs they sing.”

For more than a decade, Yancy has released radio-friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Mute Math, Newsboys and Nichole Nordeman. As a writer, Yancy has teamed up with Third Day’s Mac Powell, wrote Avalon’s #1 hit “I Don’t Want To Go” and Jaci Velasquez’s “Something Beautiful,” among others. The Orange Conference

February 12th, 2014

Every year I look forward to a conference that happens down south in Atlanta, GA. I have been at the conference every year since it launched in 2007 and wow, what a think tank it is for ideas on how churches can win well at partnering with the families in their congregation. You may have heard of Reggie Joiner, Orange, 252, First Look, Amber Sky….the list could go on and one. If you’re not familiar with the Orange strategy then I encourage you to dive in and see what all this company is doing that you as a church and as a parent could benefit from.

Orange Conference is happening this year April 30-May 2 down in Atlanta. http://theorangeconference.com

As an attendee one of my favorite parts of Orange is the general sessions. In my opinion these experiences are worth the travel time and the expense to get there. You’ll experience creativity that always inspires me. You’ll hear amazing communicators that I believe God uses mightily to speak the things that not enough Christian leaders are speaking. You’ll tap your foot and clap your hands along with some incredible musicians that will remind of music’s ability to teach a message as well as lead you into God’s presence through worship. You’ll laugh. They get some truly funny people and shenanigans on stage that will help you relax and just be. Every year I hear at least one message that I meditate on and share with others all year long. It’s the kind of truth that helps shape you into a better leader, spouse, parent and friend.

I’ve had the chance to be a part of Orange many times sharing music and teaching breakouts. It’s always a honor to impart and share what God has given me with other leaders that desire for their kids worship times to be great, to be something that actually teaches kids to worship and is done with excellence. I’m grateful for the chance that Orange has given me over the years to help leaders win in the area of kids’ worship.

In the breakout sessions is where the topics get broken down and the age group focus happens. (Oh yeah, did I mention the cool part about Orange is all in the same room at the same event you’ll find Senior Pastors, Student Ministry Leaders, Children’s Ministry, Preschool Ministry and more?) So never, fear between the pre-conference session and the breakouts happening through out you’ll be able to get some of those hands on basic tools pertaining to your area of ministry focus. Here is the full list of breakout sessions for 2014.

OK, so here’s the cool part. I get to give away a FREE Conference registration to this year’s Orange Conference! Woo hoo. Happy dance. Oh yeah. So here’s the scoop.

To enter to win this free pass to Orange Conference post on facebook, twitter or instagram:

  • 2. “Georgia is on my mind! @yancynotnancy & @orangeleaders are giving away a FREE TICKET to #OC14 “
  • 3. post by Feb 18, 2014
  • 4. One lucky winner will be chosen. (Your privacy settings will have to be set to public for us to see and find your posts to choose one lucky winner at random. The Orange Conference 2014 will take place in Atlanta, April 30-May 2. Winner will receive a ticket to the Main Conference. Pre-conference may be purchased at an additional cost. Conference ticket will be issued via email by Orange staff. If the winner has previously registered for OC14, the ticket will be refunded.

P.S. Passion oozes out of this event: The staff, the presenters, the attenders. I’ve never experienced a group of people more passionate and committed to working dilligently and effectively at helping churches help families win. I love Orange. I love it’s staff. I love it’s strategy. I love it’s leader, Reggie Joiner, he is a true friend. He is genuine and this world is truly a better place because of how he obeys God and the message he allows God to speak through him.

I hope I see you there. Come tap me on the shoulder and say hi when you see me there. Orangealicious baby, here we come!

Set your DVR. Yancy will appear on “Bay Life” in Tampa Bay/Central Florida on February 5th and 6th. Check local listings. The show will air on CTN.

This appearance follows up Yancy’s appearance on CTN’s national show “The Good Life” where she was the featured guest of the show. Yancy was able to perform three songs and share the heart behind the music.

Yancy has released a recording of “10,000 Reasons” on iTunes. Yancy put her on spin on this popular Matt Redman worship song. We would love for you to check out the recording. Download it today!

You’ll also find a new recording of “Shout!”. Yancy shares: “Shout! has been my most popular song ever and this past fall I decided it needed an update. So, I went back in the studio and had fun recreating the song. I hope my fans will enjoy the new style and sound of the song.”

Videos for both songs have been released as well. You can find them on the WorshipHouseKids site.
