Yancy Enlists Jaci Velasquez and Salvador’s Nic Gonzales for Upcoming Spanish Language Praise Album for Kids

e11d3d28-9c5d-4e5d-a233-f39c2e84ebf6_zps472d93f1Yancy has long been Christian music’s reigning Queen of Diversity, but with the upcoming release of “Pequeña Fiesta de Alabanza!,” she’s expanding her reach far beyond English-speaking fans. Her all-new Spanish language children’s project, a CD/DVD set, will be available online and in Christian bookstores everywhere on June 24th, via Elevate Entertainment.

Yancy and friends (including Jaci Velasquez and Salvador frontman Nic Gonzales, who provided vocal production) have taken some of the most popular songs from her “Little Praise Party” series and translated them into Spanish. The result is a fun collection of 15 songs that will warm the hearts of kids and their parents too. The accompanying DVD features animated music videos (one for each song!) that are sure to capture the imagination of children.

“Last year, I received a request to make my music available in Spanish,” says Yancy. “This wasn’t unlike previous requests, but on this particular day, the seed took root. A few weeks later, I couldn’t shake it. I realized that now was the time. It was time to take that step and help make my music and worship resources available in another language. Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15), so here I go!”

“Little Praise Party” has an app for iOS and Android. The songs from “Pequeña Fiesta de Alabanza” will be featured in the monthly playlist in addition to the English versions of the songs. The app is a wonderful resource for praise sing-along fun on the go.

“I’m so happy there’s music like this for kids and even happier that Yancy took the plunge and did this fun praise music in Spanish,” says Jaci Velasquez. “I’m glad to have been involved, I foresee lots of kids around the world worshipping alongside Yancy in every language.”

f8935985-cbe5-4f8a-b21d-02d6b3e4cd95_zpsae57f16e“I am so thrilled that Yancy has lent her considerable talent to the Spanish community,” says Beth Guckenberger of Back 2 Back Ministries (www.back2back.org). “From ‘Me Gusta’ to ‘Es Navidad,’ it’s an album chocked full of God’s Biblical truth. I can’t wait to share these catchy songs and creative lyrics with the children we serve in the Spanish speaking world.”

For more than a decade, Yancy has released radio-friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, Mute Math and Nichole Nordeman. As a writer, Yancy has teamed up with Third Day’s Mac Powell, wrote Avalon’s #1 hit “I Don’t Want To Go” and Jaci Velasquez’s “Something Beautiful,” among others.

Sold Out

May 18th, 2014

I’m on the road in Pella, IA leading worship and doing a family concert. This morning in church the speaker use the words “sold out” in a sentence. Those words jumped out at me when he did. I remember when being “sold out” was a thing. It was pretty commonly used back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, especially in the church circles I was in. Somewhere along the way the phrase became uncool. We moved on. Life rolled on.

Today, when I heard those words I was reminded we need to be sold out. We need to get back to that being a thing. Sold out in the context of an event would mean it’s a maximum capacity. What if we lived our Christian life to it’s maximum? What if we chose to:
be kind,
speak truth,
stand up…sold out?
What if we gave it all? What if we lived for Jesus with a passion like never before? What if we were sold out living hot, not cold or lukewarm for Jesus?

I’m saddened because just as the words “sold out” became uncool in life for many living for Jesus also has become uncool. We need to get back to being a nation under God. We need to get back to being individuals and families that live for Jesus every day and in every decision. Not just when it’s convenient and socially acceptable but in every decision even in the moments that our sold out-ness makes us be cast offs.

Revelation 3:15&16 says: “I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.” (Message)
Verse 19 goes on to say “The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!”

Will you join me?
Will you live boldy?
Will you love Jesus with everything?
Will you run after God?
Will you let your life be at maximum capacity when it comes to your relationship with Jesus?

Being sold out is what gets you an eternal seat at the feet of the King of kings. I’ll take that front row seat any day.
I’m in. I’m not ashamed. To Jesus I am sold out.

JungleSafariHigh Quality Children’s Music Available Digitally For The First Time Ever

Standard Publishing—publishers of children’s music for decades—has signed a digital distribution deal with Syntax Creative in good timing before the summer launch of “Jungle Safari” curriculum, a Vacation Bible School curriculum used across the country.

Churches around the world use Standard Publishing’s resources to inspire, educate and motivate their communities. One of Standard’s most popular resources is their VBS curriculum, which includes original, inspiring music from award-winning recording artist Yancy.

“Standard Publishing is passionate about helping kids know God and music is a great way to connect with them,” says Lindsay Black, Associate Publisher at Standard Publishing. “We’re excited to partner with Syntax to provide another opportunity for kids and leaders to discover Yancy’s music.”

Syntax Creative CEO Tim Trudeau says, “Year after year, Standard Publishing consistently puts out high quality and engaging curriculum. I’m excited to work with them and, for the first time ever, offer their music to the digital marketplace.”

This year, Yancy created eight, new songs to go along with the “Jungle Safari” VBS resource, which are available now for pre-order at iTunes now. And, now these biblically-based songs will be available to the public to use during VBS and all-year long. Additionally, Yancy’s music from previous VBS packages will be made available through digital services providers as well.

Black adds, “We are thrilled with the new songs for this year’s summer children’s programming and we are confident they will make a great addition for children’s worship time at any church.”

“No longer will people only be able to only hear the music if they buy the curriculum, but they will now also be able to purchase or stream the music as a stand-alone—both in advance and long after VBS season is over,” adds Trudeau. “Normally it would cost money to market a product; in this case—and with our help—Standard Publishing will be expanding their reach and their message at the same time!”

Yancy has released several high-quality albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults alike, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Mutemath, Newsboys and Nichole Nordeman.
